About
A parts counter that checks the specialist suppliers at once
Classic Source is a price comparison tool for car and truck parts, from a 1928 Model A to something built this year. Type a part name, or photograph the part itself and the AI reads the numbers stamped in the metal. It is operated by DattaDock LLC in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Why it exists
My father-in-law owns a family auto repair shop. When a customer brings in something old, pricing the job means checking store after store, and every one of them has its own catalog, its own part numbers, and its own idea of what fits. Doing that by hand for a single part takes a while. Doing it for a whole repair takes most of an afternoon, and by the time you have an answer the customer has been waiting all day.
Classic Source started as a way to do that in one search instead. It has grown since then, but the job has not changed: type in the vehicle and the part, see who has it and what they charge, then go buy it from whichever one makes sense.
What it does
- Searches the restoration specialists and the national chains at the same time for the part you ask for, instead of one tab at a time.
- Puts the prices side by side, with part numbers, brand and stock status wherever the retailer publishes them.
- Checks fitment against your exact year, make, model and engine, and says plainly whether a part fits, likely fits, or needs to be verified before you order.
- Saves the vehicles you work on in a garage, and saves the searches you run over and over.
- Offers AI Assist, an optional feature that answers questions about the results on your screen, such as which listing actually fits or why two parts that look identical are priced differently.
What it does not do
Classic Source does not sell parts. There is no inventory, no cart, no order and no shipping here. Every result links back to the retailer that listed it, and the purchase happens on their site, under their prices, their shipping terms and their return policy.
Prices and availability are read from the retailers and can change at any time, so the retailer's own page is always the final word. Fitment results are a strong hint, not a guarantee. Confirm the part on the retailer's page before you buy.
Accounts and plans
Create an account and get 5 free searches, with no card needed. After that, searching needs a plan: Owner at $4.99 a month, which is the garage and the maintenance log with a small number of searches and no AI; Enthusiast at $9.99 a month; Workshop at $19.99 a month, which adds AI Assist, photo part lookup and install guides; or Pro at $49 a month, which has the most searches and AI questions. Your account also keeps your garage, saved searches and saved parts across devices. Plans are billed monthly through Stripe and can be canceled at any time. Current plans and prices are shown in the app, and the details are in the Terms of Service.
